[A glimpse of Sweden 2018] Starting of with the beautiful city of Karlskrona

This is my first post so this will be kinda of a test for me to see how it works to make post here on Steemit.
The idea is that this will be a series in which I will write posts about different places in my homeland Sweden.

First out will be a city located at the south coast of Sweden in Blekinge county, Karlskrona.

The city is built on a variety of islands, which are both natural but also created by man. The city was founded in the 17th century and was thought to take over the throne as Sweden's capital from Stockholm. The city is named after King Karl XI.
There are still traces left in the city, indicating that there were magnificent plans for Karlskrona. We have them big grand streets, the main square with a statue of the king himself and Fredrikskyrkan (church of Fredrik).

But Karlskrona instead became the home of the Swedish navy and was to protect Stockholm from the Danes who was our worst enemy at the time.
Today Karlskrona is more of an IT city than a military city, when several major IT companies have been established in the city, such as Telenor and Ericsson. Karlskrona is also home to one of Sweden's smallest, but most proficient colleges with Blekinge Institute of Technology.

Karlskrona is famous in Sweden for its nice summer weather, archipelago and amazing environments.
Brändaholm is located in Karlsrkona and is often portrayed on postcards from Sweden and you can easily understand why.
