Sushmita Sen appears fierce in her role as trans activist Shreegauri in the teaser for the film 'Taali'.

Yesterday, the much-awaited web series "Taali" unveiled its teaser, featuring the dynamic Sushmita Sen in the role of Mumbai-based transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant, also known as Gauri Sawant.

Sushmita Sen shared the teaser on her Instagram, accompanied by a caption that read, "From gaali to taali, the journey of Shreegauri Sawant. Presenting the story of Shreegauri Sawant's fight for India's third gender." The teaser showcases Sushmita Sen in a formidable avatar, advocating for the rights of India's third gender.

The teaser commences with a powerful voiceover, where the protagonist passionately demands self-respect, respect, and freedom to live life on their terms from society. The scene then transitions to Sen portraying a young Sawant during her college days, dressed as a boy. The frame seamlessly shifts to Sawant's transformation into Gauri.

As a transgender activist, Sushmita Sen exudes strength and intensity, sporting a striking, large circular bindi and kohl-rimmed eyes. Her captivating portrayal demands undivided attention as she fully immerses herself in the character. Needless to say, Sushmita Sen appears incredibly promising in her role in "Taali."

"Taali" is set to be available for streaming on Jio Cinema starting from August 15. Directed by Ravi Jadhav, the series boasts a script penned by Kshitij Patwardhan.
