Survival Food Series #3 : Eat the Weed(s), Flowers and Roots! What You Can Eat From Your Own Backyard!
Poor Man’s Pepper # 3 This prolific weed with tiny white flowers is also know as Peppergrass. This dainty delicacy is edible from flower to root and found all over the world in dry or well drained, sandy soil. The scientific name is lapidium virginicum, and is a member of the mustard family. Like all greens, it is high in vitamin c and is a great addition to any diet. It can be eaten in salad, sauteed, or used as a potherb and tastes a bit like arugula. Peppergrass has a main tap root that makes a great substitute for horseradish, just grind the root and add some vinegar and salt. Bon Appetit!

This is an excellent post. I live here in the Pacific Northwest, and I have been doing research on our native edible plants here. I am going to have to look for this plant here, and try it out.
