Yesterday is the second week of our community service under " Sweat Equity Project " as we are accumulating total of 400 hours as part of the requirements upon the application of receiving free shelter from Habitat for Humanity Philippines Foundation Inc. in Silay city Negros Occidental.

The beneficiary of this program is my bestfriends family @legendarypeter. It is my goal to support them all throughout the construction process and to lessen the number of hours they need to accumulate.

We are doing heavy construction work, but for us who are not used to this kind of job, is not easy to accomplished a certain tasks. We come to the construction site at 9:00am and ended at 5 in the afternoon. Even I am very tired from my land trip from Cebu city that last for almost 13 hours. I still need to do my part and not to complain whatever task will be given to us.

It a is very hot day while the sun is aggressively draining our energies when we work under the torrid heat. Then, we bring a lot of water this time, because last time our water is not enough to quench our thirst.

What boost me to work hard is when I saw a one lady who is also doing her part under " Sweat Equity " . As you can see on the first picture there is a lady with amputated right hand. Even that is her situation still she is rendering service to accumulate the requested number of hours.A very dedicated person amidst of her imperfections and disabilities.

Yesterday we do the sand leveling that will serve as flooring to their new working station beside the headquarters. Me and my bestfriend alternately do the shovel work by transferring the sand pile. At first site it looks so easy to do the shoveling, but base on our experience its a very exhausting, tiring, muscle reflexing, hip and waist work that really hurts if you do it for more than an hour.

We also assist in light metal works by just simply twisting the wires to fixed the two long round bars. There are ready cut wires beside the steel bars all we have to do in to align in from tip to bottom. We are using the galvanized wires to tie the round bars that are adjacently arranged. At least we are doing it in a shadowed area where we can rest from doing extreme work under the burning heat of the sun.

I am so glad that I was able to experience this king of work for quite some time, to be specific it's once a week. But it feels like you work for more than a week, because my body now are experiencing a lot of pain. Especially on my waist and back. Maybe we acquire that when we do the shovel work as bowed and bended our body most of the time.

Before we took our lunch we visited the site where we worked last week 60 meters away from our new working task field. Which looks moving in progress, they already build the wall post using the cured bamboos, coco lumbers, and finished the floorings.

As we came back after our lunch we are doing the same task for that day. Where it is getting more hot and the even the air is no longer blowing cool temperature. Yet we need to finished everything before 5 in the afternoon, but the good thing at exactly 4:30 we finished our task and the foreman told us to take a rest and wait for the remaining time before he will signed out working schedule sheet the 1/2 size index card. Where all of our time work is recorded and verified by the time keeper.

We are so happy that day, because we accomplished another work that lessen the number of hours we need to accumulate for the upcoming days. Then at exactly 5pm the time keeper signed our time record sheet and we are all set that day. We can rest our body after the extreme works and prepare ourselves for the next week schedule.
