A joint report submitted by the Lucknow commissioner and police commissioner found negligence to be the cause of the massive fire at the Levana Suites hotel which claimed the lives of four people.

The commissioner's report held the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration (LESA), district administration, fire, municipal corporation and excise departments responsible for the blaze. Officers and engineers responsible for the fire incident were also named in the investigation reportA list of illegally constructed hotels in the UP capital was also handed over to the government. The report further recommended action on hotels operating in violation of norms.

Four people, including two women, died and at least 10 were injured after a fire broke out on the premises of Levana Suites in the city's commercial centre, Hazratganj, on Monday, September 5.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had ordered a detailed probe into the blaze. During the probe, the LDA found the building violated several norms and recommended action against those responsible.

Forensic teams of the police and various teams of the administration, LDA, and the municipal corporation are looking into the hotel's records.
