Get your religion from someone tech-savy. Otherwise you'll be interpreting space ships as flying chariots and cell-phones as the arc of the covenant. Does it make sense that humans built a tower to heaven, or is that euphemism for a launch pad? Should we not eat pork or shellfish because those creatures are ritually unclean, or is it because there's a high risk of viral ingestion? My sensibilities have me re-thinking the concept of Tribulation. Could it not simply be a period of extreme hardship due to over-population / disease / famine? My guess is that the Tree of Knowledge is a metaphor for agricultural crop cultivation, or possibly even marijuana, which has a tendency of changing perception. Isaac Newton predicted the end, and it's surprisingly inline with the predictions our top environmentalist put out there. Newton, a scientist, used a hidden prophecy in the Bible, whereas I hope our scientists are using their own method (one that Newton was also fond of). It would be no more difficult to surmise our fate as it would any other organism placed in a petri dish with a Pre-Defined amount of resources. You don't teach the ignorant. You manipulate them using the means they themselves provide. Human beings have daddy-issues. Work with that.
