Stand up paddle - quite fun, but hard to stand!

in #sup2 years ago

I have been trying a SUP today and it was really fun. It is really warm and the sun is so strong that you don't really feel like spending much time during the peak hours in which the UV is at the strongest. But, the SUP, the stand up paddle, is brilliant as it will allow you to have a tiny surfing experience as you float across the water and enjoy the water down in the sea while not being in it. But, the cool thing is that it is a perfect tool for bringing a kid along as well, and it even works great as a jumping board from which the kids can jump into the water. Just make sure to have someone near it so that it will not float away if someone should "kick" it too hard as they jump into the water.

The SUP is for standing and paddling, and it is brilliant, but I have got to admit that it is quite hard to actually control it. If there are some small waves it gets even harder. I guess you need a little bit of experience and practice to get used to it, and if you have good balance already, you will probably get used to eat faster.

Now I am back where I live to relax before we will head out to the sea again in a couple of hours. Then it will no longer be as strong UV as it is right now, and we can just relax and have fun. The only problem is that in the evening the sea is more "messed", meaning that it isn't as clear and easy to enjoy as in the morning when it feels cleaner.

All in all, the SUP is awesome and it gives you an additional fun thing to do while enjoying a holiday along the sea.
