Vagamundo Coffee - Cabarete DR

One of my favorite breakfast spots in Cabarete is Vagamundo Coffee and Waffles. This place is amazing.

The vibes are incredible. The space is like a green house type of a hipster vibe. There are plants around every corner and vines along terraces all through out the area. There is comfortable seating for socializing, using repurposed pallet wood and other interesting upcycled designs.

On the weekends there is usually music from 10-12 and it is usually something chill and soft that you can still enjoy the tranquility of the space.

Recently, I was there and enjoyed this amazing artist playing folk, reggae, swing, blues type of stuff. He had a very lovely style and sang in Spanish, Italian, and English. Perhaps the most entertaining part of his performance was his Kazoo solos. He wore a Kazoo in a harmonica stand around his neck like Bob Dylan and played between singing and playing guitar. He also was an extremely talented whistler. I am told he is there at least once a month. What a treat.

Anyway, the food is glorious, high-quality and comes with a very high caliber coffee made to your specific preference. I personally enjoy the classic waffle with just Maple Syrup. But they also offer interesting flavor combinations such as Ricotta & guava and topped with mint. They also have healthy protein bowls, Acai bowls, and a variety of different toasts and salads.

Another bonus of supporting this restaurant is that they support this non-profit program called “Ninos de la luz” which helps to get kids off of the street and into school and solid work.
