I do not have many colorful sunsets where I live so this one was a nice surprise, even though it brought freezing cold weather which I hate.
The news channels had different names that were given for this cold front. It was being called polar vortex, arctic front and my favorite, arctic invasion.
The wind gusts were over 40 miles per hour and the coldest it got was 2 degrees with a windchill factor of -15 degrees, and it lasted for several days. I could feel that my nose hairs were frozen after being outside for only 5-10 minutes. And we were lucky. I heard reports that some states had -50 degrees. Crazy!
We are thawing out now for a couple of days and then the temps will drop to the 20's this week. I am so ready for spring!

That is about all that cold was good for. Yes, it felt like we had a heat wave today.
HaHa! Yes we want it "meow!" You poor thing. We still have a lot of that white stuff too but thank goodness it stopped right before the cold front. Got 3 more inches last Friday. 6" here, 4" there, 3" again and on and on and on. It all adds up, especially when it takes forever to melt. You stay warm too @shasta! : )

howdy again whatisnew! Well we are in Northeast Texas and today it was in the 60's but I think it will be in the 70's tomorrow, last week it hit 80 already for a few days. The weather here is rough for 3 months because of the heat, but then it's like heaven for the other 9 months, in my opinion. We used to live in Northern Ohio so I know how tough the winters can be. They pretty much suck up there. lol.
Tough winters here for sure, as you know. You are so lucky to have weather like that. Like I said, I am packing my bags. LOL!
Well my wife who I refer to as Mrs. J, was always suffering from the cold and loved the heat. She had lived in North Carolina so she knew she wanted to go South. I didn't want to go this far South because it's so dang hot in the middle of the summer but she insisted when she found a place she wanted so here we are.
The summer is hot but it really isn't that bad up in this part of Texas because it's not very humid. In the South of Texas forget it, melts you like Louisiana.
The hotter the better for me but without the humidity of course. No such luck of that happening here. Sounds like you are in a good part of Texas and hey, you made your wife happy. A happy wife makes a happy life. : )
haha! What the saying? "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!" So true. The hotter the better. wow. Then come on down! About June, July and August.
