Sunset Alanya - Turkey

There is a certain beauty to sunsets in coastal cities that you don’t get in other urban centres, mostly because they are free of the kind of pollution one finds elsewhere. And after a rain has passed, everything seems all the more vibrant and clear. The sky takes on a deeper blue, the clouds are more striking and you have an unimpeded view of the sun as it goes down into the sea.

To do the scene justice I employed HDR, merging a minimum of three shots (an underexposed, an overexposed and one in between) with some software to bring out the full range of light your eye would see. A bit of colour correction was the last touch to make it something truly captivating and fit for sale.

My work has been available on stock sites since 2010 and I can be proud that thousands of copies have changed hands in that time.
