Sunday afternoon catkins

Yesterday, it poured with rain the whole day. When I saw a glimmer of blue sky I was determined to get out.

I made it to the Botanic Garden, about ten minutes walk from my house, before it started to snow. In spite of the weather and gloomy skies. i caught what I wanted to see:

The first early primroses in the beds by the mediterranean and tropical greenhouses and

And further round, down in the meadow, clumps of snowdrops.

A fine display of berries in the skimmia beds (one of several national collections).

And, by the entrance, the official notice board!
