John 5:7 (KJV)

The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

The passage above, talks about a man who had been sick for 38 years. At that time, there was a pool an angel stirred at a particular season and whoever jumped in first, received his/her healing.

The sick man was already at the place where he would receive his healing, but he had no man. He had no one to push him in whenever it got to his turn to go into the water. So he remained there for 38 years until Jesus came to his rescue.

Just like the sick man in the story above, some of us live our lives waiting and waiting for someone to help us.

That sick man had spent 38 years being sick. To my own understanding, 38 years is a long time enough to meet someone, connect with them and build a relationship to the point that they would be able to assist him to get into the pool when it was his turn.
But no, he didn't make an attempt, he waited!

Just like some of us are doing right now, we are waiting. The excuse we are giving to ourselves and whoever that cares to listen is, we have no man.
We conclude we have no helpers, no one to help us out of that present condition we're in and have been in for years.

We even go up to the extent of thinking every other person out there is succeeding because they have 'helpers' or in this case 'men'.

Okay fine, fate has dealt you a hand. You are crippled, your parents died when you were little, you have no one with the right connections that would help you secure a job and so on and so forth...

But do you know there are people in worse situations than you are, and they found a way to come out of it without waiting for a 'man'.

I believe the sick man in our story above wasn't the only sick man at the pool who had no family. Others were there and trust me, they definitely didn't just sit there waiting... They made moves to get help.

If you read that passage clearly, even when Jesus approached the sick man, he didn't make an attempt to ask for help from Jesus. He only told him, I have no man. He had resigned himself to his fate.

He had concluded, the only people who succeed down here are those who have a 'man'. I do not, so I guess I'll just wait and watch the beautiful scenario until a man appears out of nowhere to help me.

Oh, he was right though. A man did come. But that was after 38 years of waiting. Do you know what he could have achieved in 38 years?

Stop waiting for a helper to jump out of nowhere! Strive to achieve goals yourself. Strive to become a helper yourself. Do not let the situation around you keep you from achieving your goals.

Look for an alternative. There is always an alternative. You are not the first to be in such a situation, and you will definitely not be the last.

So instead of just lying around waiting, take a bold step...
The worst that would happen is, you will fail. But then, you have found out that that method wouldn't work, so just try another. It is better than just lying around waiting...

What if Jesus had not passed by that pool that day? What if that uncle you are waiting for does not keep his promise? What if there actually is no helper set out for you? Would you just lie around waiting forever?

If everyone waited around looking for a helper, Who would actually be the helper?

Go do something with yourself. Make a move today. It is better than crying out for your helper to locate you....

Sort:

Taking that bold is harder than you make it sound, what if their isn't any solution to a mans problem. #whatif

I don't believe in #NoSolution I believe if there's a will, then there's a way

Hmm... Their is always a way, all we need is search.

Thanks. That was inspiring. Which church do ya attend??
