Bitcoin remains under $4,000, since its dramatic drop on Friday, over the past few days we have seen it continue to fall gradually. It slipped just under $3,800 yesterday, and today it remains around $3,800. Ethereum climbed to just over $300 on Tuesday, but since then it just continues to fall lower and it remains around $270. Only last Thursday, bitcoin cash hit $700. This week it remains under $600 and as you can see over the past few hours it has been jumping between $400 and $500. Ripple climbed higher on Monday and Tuesday and then we saw it start its path of decline again. Monero experienced almost a 10% gain over the past few hours and it is currently around $115. We saw it reach a record high on the 28th August of over $150. IOTA, ethereal classic, NEO, ZCash, Tether, Ark and Steem are some other alt coins that are also in the green today.

On CNBC’s Fast Money Show, John McAfee a true believer in bitcoin addressed the recent comments made by JP Morgan’s CEO, saying, ”I’m a bitcoin miner. We create bitcoins. It costs over $1,000 per coin to create a bitcoin. What does it cost to create a U.S. dollar? Which one is the fraud? Because it costs whatever the paper costs, but it costs me and other miners over $1,000 per coin. It's called proof of work….And the fact that bitcoin is consistently growing in its use and its value has to say something, sure it will rise and fall as all new technologies are. But at the same time, it is certainly not a fraud.” He clearly remains confident in the cryptocurrency world, and this summer he bet on twitter that bitcoin will reach $500,000 in three years.
