Steemit when I joined

in #suggestions7 years ago

I remember back in the days when I was trying to join Steemit. First I had to post a bunch of stories on Reddit.

I had to build my Karma up on Reddit.

just to get a chance at joining.

Then I got accepted! When I started I was a 25 in the reputation.

I started by trying to follow all the big reputation numbers (the Whales) I figured that was were I'd score the most and my post would get more steem.

I posted a few of the same things I got big votes on on Reddit. Which turned out to help me get my foot in the door.

And it did, My post were bringing in the steem. I moved quick at going to bigger reputation. Every story I wrote all the whales seen and moved me up faster and faster. I was getting so many votes it was hard to stop.

So all you minnows know now. You need to follow all the whales to get your post some steem and build your reputation up where you can make it as a whale yourself.

Sort:

the attention is astronomically more difficult now with higher volume. The early bird catches the worm. Plus a new ecosystem has evolved over the year as politics and personal beliefs seem to drive things going forward. Those with the money make the rules. I'm still trying to figure out the rules here as some whales fight with each other. If you side with one, you are not friends with the other.

You got to post a good story in the early morning hours when all the whales are more active. I never had any problems with whales. They seemed to like my post and I got lots of steem. I just keep posting and following.

Interesting. is that Eastern Time ;) well the early bird catches the worm.

Me living on the east coast from Kentucky, Florida, and New York. Yes Eastern time zone for me.
