This has left around 3,000 people homeless. Local people have to be kept in relief camps along with them to safer places. There is a huge loss of life and property in this disaster. Symbolone pointed out that due to landslides the river's water flow was interrupted. This caused soil erosion and caused a sudden flood.

National Disaster Agency spokesman Sutopo Purbo Nugroho said, "Relief and rescue work is in progress at the moment." The number of dead and injured can increase. Rescuers are still trying to reach flood affected areas. Rescue teams are unable to reach all affected areas due to fall trees, rocks and mud.
