Echeveria flowers

in #succulents7 years ago

Echeverias start flowering at the end of winter and I am enjoying the diversity of flower shapes and forms, which range from star-shaped, like Echeveria elegans

... to the more tubular shapes

Some are rounder in form, I am not sure of the eact species of these Echeverias, because there are so many cultivars available

I wasn't trying to get all artsy, I used the spray bottle to get rid of the ants and aphids that tend to infest the flowers. I'm not sure whether watering more would actually help or whether Echeveria are just more susceptible to aphids in my climate.

This is a typical sight

I suppose I could spray all the plants with insecticide but I am not a fan of nuking the insect life just for the sake of the flowers and so I just leave them. Until I want to take pictures that is.

Sort:

Que bueno, todo te está floreciendo. Yo tengo flores también, pensé que con tanta agua, no vería flores. Pero se están dañando muchas, no puedo estar sacando y metiendo plantas, con estas lluvias repentinas.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

Very vigilant bot))

You finally met the haikubot?

Yes, an unexpected meeting :-))

We can do without the ants ...

No, they have their place in the world

These ants probably harm the flowers. Therefore, it is necessary to take measures to prevent them from plants. But they are many and they are very small and penetrate everywhere.

Very artistic and moody plants!
