Good Habits: Does Your Morning Routine Really Impact The Course Of Your Day?

As an entrepreneur and digital marketing expert, I’m always looking for ways I can maximize my productivity and my work output for the day. I believe that increasing productivity is key to excelling, and I’m constantly looking for new ways I can hack success and push myself even further. We all know that certain good habits can make a big difference, so I wanted to start at the beginning of the day, and laser in on morning routines. Does your morning routine really impact the course of your day?

Ivy League experts say that yes, an energizing morning routine can really help boost your productivity. Some recommendations for how you can get energized in the morning include waking up early, getting in a sweat-busting workout, and nourishing your body and mind. This might include an energizing cup of coffee, some reflection through journaling, or even a morning meditation.

Aside from the highly educated, even the most productive and successful business minds are maximizing their days by taking advantage of their mornings. Experts found that highly productive people do three things: they go to bed earlier, they wake up earlier, and they do not press the snooze button. They also found that having a productive morning has a “ripple effect” throughout your day, and impacts your “mood, happiness, and focus.”

So how can you cultivate your ideal morning routine? Find a way to stimulate your body and your brain in a way that best helps you. For example, maybe a workout is best for you in the morning, or maybe you’ll best benefit from some gentle stretching and reading. Your morning routine doesn’t need to mimic anyone else's. But if you’re a person who tends to rush out the door to work, it’s ideal to wake up a little bit earlier, to give yourself some time in the morning. You can start with just 10 or 15 minutes earlier, and work your way up to having more time. Waking up earlier may seem like an impossible challenge, especially if you’re hustling well into the night. But it can really set a tone of success for your day.

And the great news is that your “morning” can actually start at whatever time you like. For example, if you’re husting by working night shifts for a job to finance your entrepreneurial endeavors, your “morning” may start at 3:00pm. Everyone has a unique schedule, body, and goals. The key is to take advantage of the first hours of your day, get enough rest, and find an energizing way to start off your day.
