A successful life, according to a few entrepreneurs

“To me, the ultimate success is doing what you want to do everyday and having nobody have any impact on that.”

Great quote from Gary V. In the last post, I mentioned Gary V and I wanted to elaborate on some of his philosophies since their defiantly bold and have captured a lot of attention and praise.

Gary is all about the hustle. He says a pure bread entrepreneur is one who loves the journey, not the stuff.
Opposite to many other “celebrity entrepreneurs” Gary always talks about not being into watches or exotic cars or fancy things. A lot of people want the vacations, but he thinks that if your in the game just for the finer things in life your gonna lose.

His definition of an entrepreneur is “somebody who can’t live without doing their thing and trying to create.”
He does say that some people like to treat themselves for working hard, and that thats ok. For him, the reward is putting more of the dollars and energy into the company and not buying stuff for himself.

He says “Im trying to buy the jewelry company, not a part of the jewelry.”
Kind of sounds like Warren Buffet there.

That reminds me of another thing Gary v said.

It was something like, the fastest way to buy the company Porsche is to not buy a Porsche. And he’s right, saving your money and playing the long game will inevitably lead to financial success.

You’ll find this is a common theme among many other successful people.
Mark cuban always talks about “living like a student” and how he lived in a 3 bedroom apartment with 6 people after he graduated college. Now his net worth is something like $4 Billion, so it worked out for him.

Elon Musk used to live off a dollar a day. Steve jobs was frugal as well And Ashton Kutcher used to sell his blood for money

Many successful people seem like they have it all now, but it didn’t always start out like that.
The key to living a successful life is, no matter how shitty it gets, to know you are on the right path and to love the process.

Another great Gary V quote here,
“How you make your money is more important than how much you make”
