The 3 C's - Cool, Calm, Collected.
When I was younger, I would be playing the Nintendo or the Play Station and I would loose, get mad, throw the controller and curse the T.V. My mother would come to my room, wash my mouth with soup and tell me her famous words she told me all my life, "stay cool, calm, and collected."
From the time I was a child and up in my twenties, I thought, oh mom, what do you know? Well, she knew a hell of a lot more than I did. Those words are as true as any I ever heard.
She would go on to say, "if you want to be successful you have to stay cool, calm, and collected. Getting mad and cursing just makes you look stupid. Be like a secret agent and use your head and stay focused."
Man, was she right. It wasn't until I became determined to change my life and take those words to heart did I understand the meaning and benefits it offered.
When I took my first step on my journey to success I employed that trick, and before long I noticed the effects it had on my life. And when I felt myself getting mad, I would tell myself, stay cool, calm, and collected. Now days, I rarely, if ever, lose my temper. The three C’s has helped to keep me on the path to success. The path of success is like a bumpy road over grown with weeds and littered with potholes, and we must keep our heads when the traveling gets rough. Sometimes we will be thrown from the buggy, but instead of losing our tempers and cloud our thinking, we must pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and get back on the buggy and do it again, as many times as it takes, eventually the path will widen and the traveling will get easier, and then one day it will turn into a paved road and lead us to our destination. The 3 C's have done more in controlling my emotions than any other trick. I highly suggest this method. There is a lot of truth in those simple and yet valuable words. I found the 3 C's is a game changer on my personal journey to success. So, be like a secret agent and remain focused, and don’t let emotional output take control.
