Good decisions is a must
I make decisions all the time. It is often the greatest value I am able to add to a meeting or a conversation. Good decisions are a precious commodity and if you can contribute to making good decisions you will be important to any organisation.
Decision-making is the act of choosing between possible solutions to a problem.
People often hesitate to commit to a decision or rush in to make a hasty one. As important a skill as this is, we seem to think that whatever comes naturally will work. However, it is important and therefore preparation, practice and research will be of benefit to you.
In this blog, I want to mention three things that could prevent effective decision-making. There are more, of course. I hope you will mention some in the comments below.
1. Information
You need enough information and you need accurate information. If you do not know enough, your decision will be more like flipping a coin. Do some research. What have others done in the same situation? Ask all the questions you can think of and then ask one more.
However, sometimes too much information can bog you down in such a way that you never get to make a decision. Decide beforehand how much time you have for information gathering. Consider all the information you have carefully. Separate the guesswork from the incontrovertible facts. Then make your decision!
2. Too many people
Often too many voices make it impossible to make a decision. Listen to the whole team but make it clear who will make the decision. Consensus can be a tricky thing to accomplish for we all see things from our own point of view. If two people agree about everything, one of them is unnecessary. Debate properly employed clarifies things and could lead to a whole new solution. However, there comes a moment when you call time on the conversation and you make the decision.
3. Procrastination
Not making a decision is making a decision! And most probably not a good one. Don't let someone else with other priorities or values make the decision. Don't let circumstances make the decision. If you do not make a decision it will not just lie there waiting for you. Take action!

Eliminate the "no" people from your team, people that have little to no ideas of there own, but are against every idea coming from someone else.

decisions has to be made while awake in this life. You are right when you stated not making a decision is also a decision. It is the decision to not make a decision. oxymoron

Lovely post,, decisions do we all human beings make the right decisions on every issues or we come across... To make decisions he/she must be real open minded and have the faith and believe that the decision he/she has made is the right one....
