Leadership and Success Training Program

The National Society of Leadership and Success is a professional organization devoted to empowering, developing, and informing leaders in all fields and industries. The association supports leadership professionals from business, government, education, and nonprofit organizations by providing educational and leadership development opportunities.

There are two main goals of the organization: first, to serve as a national resource for leaders; and second, to enhance personal growth and quality of life. The program, Leadership Education, is designed to meet both of these goals. Students can choose between study groups focused on leadership skills or career training.

The Leadership Training Program provides courses that focus on leadership skills. It also introduces students to leadership theory, writing for learning, mentoring, and coaching. There are eight courses available: Leadership Preparation and Fundamentals, Recognizing Leadership Disabilities, Problems in Leadership, Handling Difficult People, Recognizing Risks in Leadership, Defining a Vision and Mission Statement, Becoming a Team Leader, and Effective Communication.

In addition to learning about leadership skills, students can also learn about leadership by participating in leadership-related activities. Some of these activities include: professional development forums, trips to the Library, a networking day with a local professional association, community service, a mentoring program, and a leadership day. All of these activities help students better understand their own leadership qualities, capabilities, and potentials.

Leadership Training can be found at the Joplin-Oliver Professional Development Center (JOPDC) located at 205 Smith Road in Joplin, Missouri. Classes can be accessed by appointment or online through the Professional Development Office. The Learning Center offers a variety of leadership development programs.

Leadership Development is a technique to assist individuals to improve in organizational skills and understanding. The skills learned can be applied in all areas of life. The leadership program focuses on leadership concepts including strengths, weaknesses, the human mind, leadership skills, organizational and social dynamics, and personal leadership growth.

The program teaches how to identify individual behaviors and how to apply leadership knowledge to resolve problems. To encourage learning, the program has videos, CDs, audios, and other activities.

The Leaders Classroom is designed to help business leaders to develop and implement their strategies, goals, and objectives in all areas of their organizations. This program provides leadership training and coaching in six classroom sessions and one coaching session each week. Leadership classes teach leadership competencies, leadership skills, leadership fundamentals, applying leadership principles, and confidence and self-esteem.

When deciding on which course to take, one should compare courses to determine if they focus on the same area of leadership development, and if the programs are being offered by the same organization. Most of the leadership programs focus on leadership competencies and leadership learning tools, and leadership style and mentoring programs.
