How to Prosper

We are all prosperous. Prosper at its root simply means "to cause to succeed". We are all causing success somewhere. It's impossible not to. Those of us with the proper focus and intention are causing prosperity in our business, finances, family, spirituality or whatever other area we've deemed a priority. Those of us who do not feel successful and those of us who have tangible result to show for our supposed success are prosperous in excuses, doubts, stories, justifications, non-success, and non-prosperity. We are getting a result and an abundance in something. None of us are just a pile of nothing-ness. We are all causing something and have some sort of successful result for to show for the things we are causing. That is success even though it may not be the desired version of success.

So how do we begin to prosper in the right area? Let's say I'm broke, or overweight, or having relationship problems, or spiritually bankrupt...it can really be any area. How do I go about being prosperous in one or all those areas? Well the first thing I must do is decide I want to. We've all expressed interest or intention towards a goal before, but have we really decided? Decide literally means "to cut off" or "to acquire". Think of the last time you had a pizza. Did you just express interest or intention towards a slice? Or did you literally cut your piece off and take it? That is the difference between being interested and decided. When we decide we want one piece we are also deciding we don't want the other pieces. So, the "cut off" part is double sided.

Once we decide, we must go do it. If I decide "I'm going to get into the best shape of my life" then I need to simply go do it. Immediately you're thinking "But Jerry it isn't that simple...." and "Yea but what diet plan should I do?" "What are my workouts going to look like?" Those very valid sounding questions are doubts. And those doubts are the reason you are not the person you want to be right now. Many of our doubts come from a fear of others and a conformity to what is acceptable to those around us. We usually don't like the people and things that are holding us down and holding us back, but we conform to them because we believe our survival may be inhibited to some degree if we don't.

Now that we've isolated our doubts, it is time to open the flood gates! I want you to keep going with the doubts! In fact, get out a sheet of paper. Start writing them all down! Get creative and write down the most doubts anyone has ever written down before. The more the merrier!

After getting all the doubts out I want you to make another list. This list is going to be people, behaviors, and things in your life that are in exact opposition of the goals you have decided on. These are the "other pieces of pizza". Write these things down. No decide again that these pieces are not your "slice of pizza". You're going to give them up now. In fact, I want you to go line by line through all the doubts you wrote down and all the things that are opposing who you really want to be and I want you to write out ways you are going to obliterate those things. The best weapon against people, things, and behaviors that are suppressing you is to flourish and prosper in that area. Don't tone down and try to start small. Take massive action right away with the things you know. It’s okay that you don't know everything yet. That's simply another doubt! Take action with what you do know and do lots of it.

This is how you expand your life and prosper! And as you prosper you will begin to get even more creative with how you execute these things!
