In regards to the crab mentality, my mother calls me about twice a week as I'm heading to work and ends the call with "now don't let the turkeys get you down son because they are out there gobblin'".
Never thought turkeys could be semblance with this kind of mentality. Nice!
Just one of many Kentucky family hand me down analogies.
Here's another one my great grandmother used to say:
"Some people just like to chew on the fat until the flavor's gone".
People that don't let things go and move on.
