Sublime Beautiful Sunday | I sneak out to get provisions

It's Sunday... And it's time for another Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday. So, I'm trying something new this week. Something out of the box, something different, something wild, something odd and who knows where this Sunday will lead us.

This week is indeed very different from all the other Sundays. Firstly, we've started to conduct self quarantine here especially for those of us who just returned from abroad. The locals are pretty afraid when they know I'm Malaysian and had just returned. I too was afraid for myself and everyone else around me. I've been conducting daily self body temperature check just in case. And the results have been promising; all below 37.5 degrees.

Look just how empty the parks are

Anticipating a possible lock down in Vietnam, I had to prepare myself with sufficient provisions to survive for the next few weeks. Apart from dried food provisions, I had to make sure that I got some fresh ones too like vegetables, fruits and meat. The confirmed cases had gone up to 94 and I was told by my colleagues that the Govt wasn't medically prepared it it goes up to 100. As such, best to prepare myself for the worst. The latest news came out yesterday that Vietnam will suspend entry for all foreign nationals, including those of Vietnamese origin and family members with visa waivers. Not to mention that the PM had ordered the suspension of all international flights coming to Vietnam, without giving a specific time frame. There goes any form of travelling in or out of Vietnam, at least for next couple of weeks, hopefully.

Now, sneaking out when one should be quarantine wasn't easy. I had to be extra careful, limiting my interactions with everyone and of course time spend outdoors. Buying only what I needed .. Gosh !! It feels like survival of the century for all of us. Thankfully, it's not lock down with strict curfew yet in Vietnam, though I have a feeling that if the number count goes any higher, this would be inevitable.

We have to pray that we can survive it all at the end if not....
