Sublime Idaho
I have been going through old pictures and of course there are some that just are not appropriate for photo challenges for whatever reason, and yet the amuse me and I want to share. Here is a collection of some of my photos that I really like, but I did not take them, or they are video not pictures, etc.
We kick it off with me taking the double black diamond run down our back yard at one of our old houses. I am saying it is double black diamond due to the obvious wildlife hazard... lol!
Next, a picture of me scuba diving. Well, a picture of a picture of me scuba diving, the first picture was taken with a disposable underwater camera, and then I took a picture of that with my digital camera. Considering my username, I have thought about making it my avatar but it is pretty murky...
My final set of photos are pictures of me and my family and friends running "Go Left Or You're Fired" on the Payette River near Banks. In this top picture, I am at the back, captain of our paddle raft full of wedding attendees. When our daughter got married we had guests coming from all over the country and wanted to offer them a fine Idaho experience, so we loaded up our rafts (and rented an extra) and had a GREAT time!
And this is the part that makes it sublime, to me: I can do all these sports in Idaho, even scuba diving. Hagerman Hot Springs is actually a sort of "quaint" diving destination!

Now I can see why Densie "the swirl" @dswigle get's people to leave their #marketfriday links in here comments - far easier to keep track of! Anyway I am very impressed with your backyard ski-ing, even if the dog wanted to jump on the ski's with you! A picture of a picture - done that many times myself. That rafting lark looks far too dangerous - I'm happy to sit back and watch! Great stuff, I'll remember to leave a note for people to drop links in the comments - and maybe take the time to check the tag as well lol

I love living in areas that offer a wide variety of activities in a close by area. I think I still have that now living in indiana but was definitely spoiled living in South East Texas.
Hey! We ran the Whitewater River in Indiana! There is a canoe rental place there, and when we were done we asked the shuttle driver if there was any actual whitewater in Indiana... His knickers got quite knotted as he informed me that this was the most treacherous whitewater in the state! I had not meant to offend, its just, well, I run WHITE whitewater... lol!
Do you get to go skiing in the mountains?
We have not gone in a couple years, but yes there are two awesome resorts very near us, Brundage and Bogus Basin.
There is a ski hill in my area that I have never been to my whole life. I think I will finally go next winter.
We have not been in long enough we worry our knees may no longer be up for it... getting older is only better than one thing... not getting older... lol!

The 'wildlife' surely create more hazardous condition compared to other obstacles. : ) The river rafting looks adventurous. Have you ever fall out of the raft during fast current?
Yes, we have full gear: Life jackets, helmets, wetsuits when needed and most importantly, STRONG swimming skills. We practice by going and jumping in rapids for fun. Once you learn a few basics you can minimize the risks.
