From Paintings to Screen Prints - Part 3 - Good Fishing X Raúl Guerrero
Los Angeles, CA... Part 3 of our recap discussing our collaboration with San Diego-based artist Raúl Guerrero. The collaboration consists of three t-shirts featuring artwork from a series of fictional travel posters he painted in 1988.
These paintings were based on references from his experiences living in #Oaxaca, #Biarritz, and #LosAngeles. The imagery is characterized by a touch of nostalgia, and evokes a slightly mythical energy, both common elements throughout Raúl’s impressive body of work.

Once located in LA’s Chinatown, Yee Mee Loo was a popular artist-hangout restaurant and bar in the 70s and 80s. It was known for its legendary juke box and spectacular carved wooden back bar and altar; a tradition of burning incense; an eclectic mix of regular patrons; and inexpensive Chinese food available next door.

Yee Mee Loo closed in 1989 after fifty years in business, though its iconic interior elements were eventually salvaged and moved into Cinnabar restaurant in Glendale, where they were housed until 2010.

Today, the last remnants of a true Los Angeles classic can be found at Good Luck bar in Los Feliz. Good Luck, roughly modeled after Yee Mee Loo, still serves their famous blue curaçao-infused “Tidy Bowl” cocktail.

They feature a relaxed fit designed for everyday wear, sturdy double-needle stitching, and eco-friendly, colorfast dye.
