Hey steemians! Here is my second part of my Tempelhof-series. Today I show you the second part of my „Tempelhof“ series. The size of the former airfield with the building is 355 ha. The airport building is about 1.2 km long. Already at the beginning of the 20th century, famous aviation pioneers carried out their first flight tests here.
Hallo liebe deutsprachigen Steemians, heute zeig ich euch den zweiten Teil meiner Tempelhof-Reihe. Die Größe des ehemaligen Flugfeldes mit dem Gebäude beträgt 355 ha.Das Flughafengebäude ist ca. 1,2 km lang. Bereits Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts führten bekannte Flugpioniere hier erste Flugversuche durch.

Amazing building. I like the idea of the basketball court. Is this fabulous place not in use today?
The airport building accommodates over 100 tenants who are most enthusiastic about the police. Some of the hangars are used as refugee shelter. Approximately One third of the building is un-renovated and will be gradually developed over the next few years.

wieso hat man wohl eine turnhalle im flughafen :`D
und wieso konnte man den Flughafen nicht einfach umbauen, anstatt Milliarden für den "neuen" Flughafen zu verschwenden
Tempelhof ist einfach zu klein. Was soll man da schon umbauen. Wenn man die Landebahn ausbaut, müsste man halb Neukölln oder den Stadtteil Tempelhof abreißen ...

Die Amis haben in jeder Luftwaffenbasis ein eigenes Basketballteam, in Tempelhof hieß die Mannschaft „Berlin Braves USAF-TAB“ und eigens dafür wurde im vierten Stock des Gebäudes diese Halle installiert. Zum neuen Flughafen: ich denk die Anwohner sind ganz froh, dass der Flughafen weg ist und sie im Austausch für Lärm eine riesige Freifläche bekommen haben, dass so viel Geld ins „Moor“ gesetzt wird, halt ich natürlich auch für dämlich
