Hungarian Changing of the Guard

This photograph is from my trip to Budapest and shows the changing of the guard outside the Hungarian Parliament Building, although you can't see that particular building in this shot.

We were fortunate enough to just stumble across this spectacle one day on the way back to our apartment.

The thing that struck me most about it was how open it was. You felt like you could walk right up to the soldiers and touch the flag if you wanted to. I'm sure there would have been severe repercussions had I decided to do so but there were no formal barriers.
