One of the contingents of the Sinulog Festival here in Cebu. They entertained the crowd with their antics and humor as they portrayed themselves as clowns and entertainers.

One would think that what they are doing is an easy task smiling all day and making fun of themselves doing what they do best and trying much to do their antics at the cheering crowd. No it's not.

If one happened to witness the Sinulog street dancing here in Cebu it is not hard for one to understand of how exhausting it is to be one of the contingents wherein they have to dance and perform in tens of kilometers under the heat of the sun.

The only time they could possibly have a short rest is during lunch break. And of course, they have to take their break at the middle of the street. After taking their break for an hour or so they have to dance again to the beat of the drums until they finally reach the Cebu City Sports Complex where they have their final performance before the raucous crowd.

Even how exhausted they are they have to give their best no matter what, as it says, "that the show must go on" because this is the final judgement of the contest. No wonder the mayor of the city would declare a class suspension on the following day just to give the contingents a break. Which is only right then considering the circumstances they were in when they were in the street.

If not for the contingents and everybody who participated in the Sinulog the whole occasion itself would not be possible. The city of Cebu and its mayor as a sign of gratitude to all the contingents and to everybody who participated to this event the city in return give them a day of rest. What a day for everybody.
