[pre-ANN] Streemian - Streem your posts into Steem

In this post, I would like to introduce the pre-release (alpha stage) of

STREEMIAN.COM

This is in response to Reducing friction for critical mass adoption of steemit and targets the users of existing social networks and help them migrate their content to Steem.

If you wonder: the typo in the headline was on purpose, of course!

Streemian(s)

Currently, the Steem ecosystem consists of

• Steem: The blockchain
• SteemIT: One company leveraging and developing the code
• Steemians: The curators that post content on the Steem blockchain

and soon we will see

• Streemians: Those that have their content cross-posted on Steem automatically.

The "magic"

Why would anyone register their account at Streemian.com to get their copied over to Steem by streemian? What's the (financial) incentive?

Well, even though though we cross-posts your content, you still get your reward. This is achieved by the power of the underlying Graphene(tm) technology and with the granularity of the permission scheme ...

• ... we can post content in your name
• ... while you keep the power of spending the full rewards!

How it works

Due to the magic describes above, Streemian requires certain permissions to be set. In the short term, we will register an account for you that has the corresponding permissions set correctly. For an outside user, the process looks as follows:

1. Register
   Let us know your account so we can monitor it for you. Make sure to write down the provided brain key.
2. Post your content on a supported platform
   .. as usual
3. Streemian
   Let Streemian post it on the Steem blockchain.
4. Just wait
   Let the crowd-based blockchain magic work for you.
5. Profit
   Claim what ever the people belief your post is worth.

In the medium-term I would like to allow people to link an existing Steem account by providing assistance on updating account permissions properly.

Important Note: Since many users might come into Steem without knowing how to deal with private keys, I have decided to add the account streemian-cold as secondary owner authority.
This will help people (after proper verification) to reclaim access to their Steem account if they lost their brain key.

Supported platforms

While technically any platform that has a decent API could be supported, some have strict legal rules how content posted by users may be used. For that reasons, we currently only support:

If you want to give it a try without registering a new account, you can paste your favourite reddit link directly on streemian.com and have it cross-posted on Steem. Note that here, the author of the post will be streemian and you will not be eligible for any rewards.

If you want to get an invitation code, please join the #streemian channel in the Steem slack and ping @xeroc for a new code.

Why should you upvote this post

There are several reasons why you should upvote this pre-announcement:

• Account funding
  Since Streemian.com will register user accounts (after proper verification), we need at least 10 STEEM per registered user solely to pay for registration fees
• More bandwidth
  The more you upvote this post, the more bandwidth you give to user streemian how can then cross-post more content
• Continued improvments
  Since the service is free of charge (and I plan to keep it that way) a portion of the funds from voting will be used for maintenance and development
