INDIA'S SLOWLY DYING ART FORM - FICTION STORYTELLING

The purest form of sharing a story with others is the way our grandmothers did.

Weaving a message into fiction, and then narrating it in the most interesting way possible; using eyes and voice only.

In today's times, new fiction stories are reaching us through the medium of films, novels, theatre, web series, short films and even music videos, but the pure ancient art of storytelling still uses classics. Stories by Premchand, Manto, Ismat Chughtai and other legends are still been told, but where are the stories of newer times?

We truly need more original stories that are a face of our recent society, that mirrors its true face; told as stories.
Because when you tell a story well... people listen, get affected and finally act.

I am here to showcase such innovators who dare to express their creations through this medium of Storytelling; which may not be widely popular but is honestly more satisfying to the soul of the teller as well as the listener.

Today I will start by sharing my own creation and soon will share more storyteller's works, as and when I come find them.

Bellow is the link to one of my stories GUDIYA that written and narrated by me, in collaboration with Mohammad Muneem(ALIF), who was kind enough to lend the song ALI to enhance the experience of this story.

GUDIYA is a story of a mother, who was once a prostitute. Her fight with fate and her strength shines through.
