The mysterious death of the Bulgarian king

in #story6 years ago (edited)

August 28 was the anniversary of the death of the most popular among the Bulgarians, the king - Boris III. At the age of 24 he entered the throne in the third Bulgarian Kingdom, thanks to the abdication of his father Ferdinand I.

This happened on October 3, 1918. Already by the date it is clear what difficult times it was. Bulgaria participated in the First World War as an opponent of the Kingdom of Serbia. But the king died in the Second World War and the reasons for his death still make legends. For the sake of justice, it should be noted that there are grounds for these legends.

Most importantly, it is that there are no bodies of Tsar Boris III and you can not conduct an exhumation to make a final verdict. Therefore, the figure of the legendary king grows rumors and speculation.

Death

Tsar Boris III died on August 28, 1943 at the age of 49 years. The official version of the death from the Bulgarian healers is a heart attack.

Lush funeral procession of the king's body solemnly carried through the center of Sofia and buried in the Rila Monastery. However, three years later (in 1946), the body was exhumed and reburied in the territory of the palace park of Vran. But in 1949 Paraklis was blown up, and since then the whereabouts of the remains of Tsar Boris III is a mystery behind seven seals. Someone will think that everything is logical here - after all, the paraklis was blown up, but the fact is that in 1993 it was announced the burial of the king's heart in the Rila Monastery.

It would seem that if there is a heart, then it is easier to establish the cause of death. However, for some reason nobody does this.

Versions of death

The cause of a heart attack is called "thrombosis of the left cardiac artery, bilateral pneumonia, edema of the lungs and the brain." It would seem that could cause such a bouquet, given that just a few days ago the king was perfectly healthy.

This is where different versions begin.

Hitler poisoned Tsar Boris

August 14, 1943, Tsar Boris met with Hitler in his "Wolf's den" in Rastenburg (East Prussia). According to the secretary of Stanislav Balan, the meeting took place alone and after that both looked unusually upset, tense and angry. Hitler demanded from Tsar Boris to send regular troops against the Soviet army, the czar categorically refused. On August 16, the tsar told his advisor Stanimir Dobrovic about this: "Hitler got mad when I refused him in Russia, he shouted like a madman and attacked me and Bulgaria with a whole stream of accusations and attacks." It was terrible, but I did not yield to him. I'll pay for it. "

German doctors who worked at the court of Boris supposedly believed that the king was poisoned by the same poison of a prolonged action as the Greek minister Metaxas two years earlier.

The English minister in Sofia, George Rendl, argued that the king's medicines had been replaced during a visit to Hitler's Wolf's Den.

The killing of the king is the work of the anti-Hitler coalition

In this version, the interested parties are the Soviet Union and Great Britain.

Great weight is given to the "long hand of Moscow," justifying the fears of the Bulgarian monarch before the Bolshevisation of the kingdom, which he tried to prevent with all his might.

Tsarist secretary Stanislav Balan talking to a certain Dyanko Markov, allegedly told about the meeting of the monarch with the Soviet embassy on August 23 in Tsarskoy Bystrica and suggested that the tsar could be poisoned during the meal.

For the Soviet intervention in this case, the following arguments also speak: after the death of the tsar, the partisan communist movement in the country began to grow strongly, and in a year or so on September 8, Soviet troops entered Bulgaria and the next day a military coup took place in the country, after which the monarchy was abolished and communism.

Critics of this version argue that at that time Moscow had no interest in harming Bulgaria, the only German satellite with which it had good diplomatic relations.

The British version in general is deprived of real evidence and is based on the already known hatred of Churchill for the Coburg dynasty. The full name of Tsar Boris III was Clement Robert Maria Pius Stanislaw Sakskoburgotski.

The tsar was poisoned by Italians

It is believed that this version was composed by Hitler, in order to evade all suspicions. The fact that Boris's wife was Queen John, was an Italian princess. And, allegedly, her sister Princess Mafalda for some reason poisoned Boris. However, it is known that the queen's sister came to Sofia only for a funeral.

Mystical Version

The court clairvoyant Lubomir Lulchev predicted that Tsar Boris would meet his death on Saturday. The king had a penchant for superstition. According to his secretary, when climbing Mount Musala the king imagined a mountain goat who was going to take care of him and disappeared as unexpectedly as he had appeared.

Be that as it may, the official version of the death of the Bulgarian Tsar Boris III is considered to be a heart attack. Although, all his relatives questioned the investigators, they could not believe in such a sudden death from a heart attack.

I watched the interview of the now living king of Simeon II, the son of Tsar Boris III, in which he claimed that the pope died from the heart. As evidence, he cited the expertise carried out by Soviet scientists at the end of the last century.

And still it does not give confidence, neither to ordinary Bulgarians, nor to Bulgarian historians.

I am suspicious when people die. I love history. Bad people get into government in some of the countries in order to push those nations towards global world wars and those criminals then profit from the wars. Some people make a lot of money from war. I dislike war.
