Ralph Breaks the Internet

Disney’s follow-up to its wonderful 2012 animated film Wreck-It Ralph Is as gleefully self-aware as its predecessor. Once again, Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly), Vanellope (Sarah Silverman), and their Video game character buddies find themselves embarking On a new adventure. But this time, their purview has changed — after finding a wifi router in their arcade, no longer are they Journeying through video games, but through the whole internet.

Just as the first film effectively captured the energy and fun of video games, Ralph Breaks the Internet exhibits an uncanny sense for what powers the internet itself — everything from search engines to comments sections to pop-up ads to Social media. But it’s especially deft at skewering Disney and its many franchise properties, from Star Wars To the Disney Princesses. It’s a truly funny romp with a heart, and something to offer everyone in the audience.
