The Paddy Farmland Owned By The Pidie Community

Blang Pidie, is the capital of Southwest Aceh Regency, is located on the west coast of Sumatra island.

Blang (Achenese) means paddy farmland, while Pidie is the name of a region on the coast of the strait of Malacca, Sumatra. Blang Pidie and Pidie is a region which is very distant, when measured by the ancient transport, walking and horse riding.

According to the story said. In the past, community groups from Pidie migrated to the southwest of Aceh to trade, farming and settled. They open farmland vast rice fields and have it. Eventually, the area was called by the paddy fields owned by the Pidie community, or Blang Pidie.

Until now, the community of Pidie known as a community that likes to wander and trade. Their presence can be encountered almost all corners of the island of Sumatra, Java and Malaysia. Their main competitors are Chinese traders.
