জীবন বলল হাসতে হাসতে সুজন তোমাকে যদি পুলক টাকা দিতো চকলেট খেতে তুমি কি নিবে না।
সুজন বলল তাতো অবশ্যই নিবো।
জীবন বললো তাহলে মনে করো আমি পুলক। সুজন বলল না আপনিতো জীবন ভাই।
জীবন সুজনকে জোর করে টাকাটা দিয়ে বলল খালা আম্মাকে কিছু বলবে না।
সাইকেল ঘোরাতে পুলকের বাবা আকবর মিয়া আসল।
জীবন প্রথমে সালাম দিলো। আকবর মিয়া সালামের জবাব দিয়ে বলল,
জীবন কেমন আছো। জীবন বলল জ্বি চাচা ভালো, আপনি ভালো। আকবর মিয়া বলল আছি জীবন মোটামুটি।

আকবর মিয়া বলল জীবন চলে যাচ্ছো কেন বাড়িতে আসো।
আমরা গরীব বলে আসতে চাও না।
জীবন বলল চাচা পুলককে খুজতে এসেছিলাম।
আকবর মিয়া বলল ঠিক আছে জীবন আবার এসো।
জীবন সাইকেল নিয়ে বাড়ির সামনে যেতে দেখা হল পুলকের সাথে।
জীবন বলল কিরে বাড়িতে খুজে আসি কোথায় থাকিস।
পুলক বলল তাই নাকি আমিতো তোর কাছে এলাম। জীবন বলল পুলক চল বাড়িতে। পুলক বলল না আজ বাড়িতে যাব না। চল কোথায় যাই।
জীবন বলল কোথায় যাবি। পুলক বলল চোখ দুটি যেদিকে দৃষ্টি দেয়।

জীবন বলল আরে বোকার মত কথা বলিস না। চোঁখ তো আকাশেও দৃষ্টি রাখে। তাই বলে তুই আকাশে যেতে পারবি।
জীবন বলল আমরা এমন কথা বলব না যাতে মানুষ ভুল ধরতে পারে।
পুলক বলল এইটাতো একটা কথা।
জীবন বলল চলতো এখন সে কথা বাদ দে।
পুলক সাইকেলের পিছনের সিটে বসল। স্বাধীনভাবে মনের সুখে জীবন সাইকেল চালাচ্ছে। পুলকের কথার শব্দ পাচ্ছে না জীবন। জীবন ভাবলো এত নীরব কেনো পুলক। জীবন বলল কিরে কি স্বপ্ন দেখছিস। এত নিরব কেন?
পুলক বলল আরে জীবন স্বপ্ন না বাস্তব কবিতা পড়ছি।
জীবন বলল একাই পড়ছিস। পুলক বলল শোন তাহলে একটু।
"তুমি খুব সুন্দর।
তুমিই অপরূপা,
তোমার তুলনা হয়না কারো সাথে।"
পুলক বলল সত্যি তোর মনের মত কবিতার প্রথম লাইন দুটি হয়েছে। জীবন বলল তার মানে। পুলক বলল অপরূপা মিথিলা।
