The Oldest Man!

After returning to active duty during WWII, he was promoted to brigadier general. He was assigned to lead the first wave of troops ashore of Utah beach during the Normandy Landings, he became the oldest man to land on the beaches of Normandy, armed with only a cane and a pistol. Roosevelt died in France the following month of a heart attack, he was a posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor.
