EBAY SELLERS !! BEWARE SHOP HOLIDAY SETTINGS
I thought i may share my experiences with dealing with Ebay Shop Holiday Settings - NIGHTMARE
what Ebay DONT tell you that you are HEAVILY penalized if you place you store on holidays in more than one way .
You think yeah i will take a few days off put your holiday settings on your HUGE shop notice that says your away and your return date and your automatic email response all set up and running you think ahhhh take a few days put your feet up and relax no worries ................. DONT ! Read this FIRST !!
Your listing or the contents of the listing that states " This seller is currently away until **** 2017. If you make a purchase, there may be a delay in processing your order." or the fact that you have a huge banner on your store stating your away MEANS NOTHING !!!!! to EBAY what so ever you have no protection as a seller should a buyer wish to open a case.
Should a buyer choose to IGNORE the many warnings YOUR AWAY AND YOUR SHOP IS CLOSED then they can open a case for items not received while your on holiday mode then they can . Unless you post the item your liable for not received item and late marks on your seller ratings even though your store is listed as on holidays.
What you HAVE to do is change all your estimated delivery dates for the buyer to receive the item to a few days after your return date, as holiday settings mean nothing and offer's you no protection as a seller what so ever.
By changing and lengthening the estimated delivery time , you will be penalized in many ways
1- lower positioning in the item ranking which means you will be lower down on the listings compared to other listings even if your cheaper than other items listed on ebay.
Your seller ranking will be lower as your not offering super speedy service so you will be less likely to come up in an ebay search.
You will loose your top rated seller discount on your listings .
This is what you have to do to prevent anyone opening a claim for an item that is not due to be delivered .
So think before you consider putting your ebay store on holiday think of the consequences of what will happen your going loose out either way in my view.
Damn. I just wait until all my auctions are closed to go away so I know that I won't have to ship anything. I keep my phone with me to answer emails should they arise.
For the first time this year, I just extended my handling times. At first, it was 30 days handling time!!! Even so, I made sales. The sales dropped off as the time went on, even though I reduced the handling time accordingly. I think this was because I hadn't listed anything while away, and so dropped down the search results.
