The Future is in The East

I recently had a brief conversation with some people about China being the next Superpower. I would't really call it a conversation, though, because the people in question clearly lacked some knowledge on the subject. Their knowledge database is probably very extensive on other subjects more related to where they live, which is an already developed country that hasn't evolved much in the last 25 years, and really has nowhere left to go. A first world country with first world problems.

Anyway, we were kind of discussing China and Europe. They were asking questions comparing the two. Like that's even possible. We all agreed China would most likely be a superpower one day, but they weren't really aware as to what extent.

This morning, I was scrolling through Twitter and found this article. It's perfect. And, in my opinion, it might be a bit underestimating.

One of the people I was talking to said that she probably wouldn't see China become a superpower in her lifetime. The other person also thought that The U.S. would still lead as a superpower.
It's already lagging behind.

Like the article states, by 2025 China will have surpassed the rest of the world, at least where A.I. is concerned. We all know about the Belt and Road Initiative. China has extremely ambitious plans. I would even say it has already surpassed the west in terms of everyday life. China is already in a cashless future.

Living in China is fast paced. If you are away for a year or even six months, when you return it's already different. It's changing, growing at a pace none of us have ever seen before. China is the future.
You cannot compare it to other countries. There is no comparison.

I know that most people aren't really aware of how close the future is. I was talking to common people with common lives. The scale wasn't even. I should be discussing these subjects with likeminded people. But, that's how you see what the general mentality is. Talking to common every day people is how you test the waters and see if the world is aware.
Maybe I'm talking to the wrong people, maybe the general population is a bit more aware. I don't know. But, that's my story.
