Paris 1924

Before becoming the "King of the Jungle", the movie hero Tarzan was a swimmer who won at the Olympics played in Paris in 1924, as he won three gold medals. By the name of Johnny Weissmueller.

The flame was lit with the sun's rays and was transported from Greece through Yugoslavia, Austria and Germany, to Holland, where he remained in the stadium during the running of the Games. The tradition not only persists but has become a substantial element of the Olympic ritual.

The arrival of a new president to the IOC, Count Henry de Baillet-Latour involved the participation of women, for the first time in athletics. American Elizabeth Robinson was the first Olympic champion athlete. image
