When we pray
Praying from the side of the language means calling, begging, or asking. When we pray, we are calling, pleading, and asking God, the Essence of the Supreme, Creator and King of All Nature. Besides, praying is worship, even the essence of worship. Therefore, we should pay attention to adab-adab when praying. Among the adab-adab prayers are as follows:
- Ikhlash; totality is surrendered only to God.
وإذا غشيهم موج كالظلل دعوا الله مخلصين له الدين فلما نجاهم إلى البر فمنهم مقتصد
"And when they are rolled by the great waves like mountains, they call upon Allah sincerely of religion to Him, but when Allah rescues them to the land, then some of them keep on the straight path ..." (Surat al-Qaeda: 32)
The above verse implies that a prayer that is performed with full sincerity, submission, and totally surrendered and wishing only to God as those who are being stormed in the middle of the ocean is a prayer favored by God.
- Bring a heart and earnest in prayer.
"Verily, Allah does not grant the prayer of a careless and careless heart (with his prayer)." (Narrated by Tirmidhi, validated by Al-Albani)
"Know that Allah does not grant prayers from a careless heart." (HR Ahmad).
- Be kind to God, hopeful and sure to be granted, but also with fear and anxiety.
ويدعوننا رغبا ورهبا وكانوا لنا خاشعين
"... and they pray to Us with hope and anxiety. And they are the ones who are devoted to us. "(Surat al-Anbiya ': 90)
"Pray to Allah and you will be sure to be granted." (Narrated by Tirmidhi, validated by Al-Albani)
In a hadith qudsi, the Messenger of Allah said, "Allah Ta'ala says, 'I am in accordance with the conjecture of my servant against Me.' (Bukhari).
- Not in a hurry and not bored to continue praying.
"It will be granted (prayer) you during not in a hurry. He said, 'I have prayed, but not yet been granted'. "(Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
- Not praying for a sin or for breaking friendship.
"The prayers of the servants will always be granted, as long as they do not pray the contents of sin or break the silaturrahim." (Muslim and Abu Dawud)
- Accompany the prayer with the effort (effort) optimal.
God will not bring down the golden rain from heaven to those who only pray without effort. Prayer should be accompanied by optimal effort. The Messenger of Allah prayed for victory in the Battle of Badr while firmly confronting the idolaters of Makkah in the field of battle, not begging for victory while hiding from war. Similarly, Umar ibn Al-Khattab when he saw a young man who was just sitting in the mosque and not working, reminded him, "Did you know that the sky does not bring down the rain of gold and silver?"
- Maintain halal food, drinks, and clothing.
"The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) told of a man who had been walking for so long, that he became tangled and dusty.The man raised his hand to the sky and prayed, 'O my Lord, O my Lord.' the unlawful, the drink of the haram, the clothes of the unlawful and fed with the unclean food, then how will God grant the prayer? "(Muslim)
- Humble yourself before God and not by shouting because God is not deaf.
ادعوا ربكم تضرعا وخفية إنه لا يحب المعتدين
"Pray to your Lord with a low self and a gentle voice. Allah does not love those who transgress. "(Surat al-A'raf: 55)
ذكر رحمت ربك عبده زكريا - إذ نادى ربه نداء خفيا
ذكر رحمت ربك عبده زكريا (2) إذ نادى ربه نداء خفيا

"(The recited is) an explanation of the mercy of your Lord to His servant, Zechariah, when he prays to his Lord in a gentle voice." (Surah Maryam: 2-3)
ولا تجهر بصلاتك ولا تخافت بها وابتغ بين ذلك سبيلا
"Do not harden your prayers and do not lower them and seek a middle ground between them." (Surat al-Isra: 110)
When one day some friends pray while shouting, the Messenger of Allah said, "O people, have mercy on you. Surely you do not call upon the Deaf and the deaf, verily Allah is with you, He is Hearing all the more Nearly. "(Narrated by Bukhari)
- Beginning with praise and glorification to Allah and accompanying him with salvation to the Messenger of Allah.
