"Kami harus mengakui, setelah ada Laskar Pelangi, Pulau Belitung menjadi dikenal oleh banyak orang. Bukan hanya masyarakat nusantara saja, tetapi mancanegara. Sejak itu sejumlah destinasi wisata di Belitung Timur ini gencar kami perkenalkan kepada masyarakat luas," ujar Fahroni, salah satu staf Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata (Disbudpar) Kabupaten Belitung Timur.

Pekan lalu, detikTravel bersama sejumlah awak media peserta 'Jurnalis Trip 2015' bertandang ke SD Muhammadiyah Gantung atau dikenal dengan sebutan SD Laskar Pelangi, yang letaknya di Kecamatan Gantung, Kabupaten Belitung Timur, Bangka Belitung. Butuh waktu satu jam melalui jalan darat dari Bandara HAS Hanandjoeddin, Kota Tanjungpandan, Kabupaten Belitung.

Pemkab Belitung Timur berkomitmen mendorong sektor pariwisata guna menggairahkan perekonomian. Kondisi tersebut dirasakan tepat lantaran daerah ini memiliki sejumlah destinasi unggulan yang menawan untuk dikunjungi traveler.

Berada di wilayah Pulau Belitung, Provinsi Bangka Belitung, kabupaten ini masih terbilang muda atau masih berusia 15 tahun pada 2015. Talafudin menegaskan, tidak menutup kemungkinan Belitung Timur pada masa mendatang menjadi destinasi favorit di Indonesia yang disambangi wisatawan.

"Kami konsisten untuk terus-menerus memajukan pariwisata. Sehingga nanti Belitung Timur layak diperhitungkan menjadi tempat kunjungan para turis nusantara dan mancanegara," ujar Talafudin bernada optimistis.
