A Farmer and his Donkey

  Once there lived a rich farmer in a village. He  had kept a donkey to carry food and other materials of daily use from the market.    

The donkey was strong and also very much obedient to his master. His master thought he was lunacy to have a such a strong, great obedient donkey in his life.    

Time passed on. The donkey grew older and older day bay day. He started losing his body strength and unable to carry any load on his back. He was too much worried as he was not able to satisfy his master.   

 One day  in the evening he heard his master talking to his family members  about  getting rid of the old donkey and buying a strong one from nearby village. The family discussed about digging a big pit in their   nearby house and burying  the donkey  alive down into the pit and covering his body from the top with soil.    

The donkey heard such discussion of his master's  family was very sad.  He wept battery and also prayed to God for mercy. He could not sleep totally during the night.   

Next morning he saw his master and his family started digging a big pit in the nearby house. By the evening the  big pit was ready. 

The farmer  called some of his neighbors for help. The donkey was pulled towards the pit  with a rope round his neck and was pushed down forcefully  into  the pit. He fell down into   the pit with a loud noise.. He cried  as loudly as he could  and wept bitterly.   

At once the cruel men  started putting soil down into the pit to fill it. An idea came to the donkey's mind. By the grace of the god he was able to move  his four feet with some difficulty and was successful to keep the soil down his body and to  bring his body  a little up.    

The men continued  putting the soil down into the pit and the donkey kept on pushing the soil down his body coming up in the pit.   

At last the big pit was filled with soil and the donkey was also able to come out of the pit easily.
