THE BLIND MEN OF WASHINHBURG

One fateful day, six blind men from Washinhburg had an argument among themselves about the shape and structure of an elephant. They decided to visit a tame elephant, the largest land animal in the world. They were very anxious to know what this creature was like.

When they arrived at the destination, the guide took them to the spot where the elephant was positioned. The first blind man felt the broad, sturdy side of the elephant and shouted that the animal was just like a wall. The second touched a round smooth, sharp tusk and concluded that the elephant resembled a spear.

The third handled it squirming trunk. 'Indeed' he declared, the elephant is like a snake!' The fourth man felt the knee and argue that the creature resembled a tree.

The fifth, who chanced to touch it ear, concluded that the elephant was just like a fan. The last man seized the swinging tail and pointed out that the animal was just like a rope.

On their way home, these men disputed loudly among one another in the shape of the elephant. Each of them strongly stuck to his observation and would not agree with the others. Though each was right in describing the part of the animal he had felt, none had the correct picture of an elephant.

DIDACTIC

Life is a mystery, some generation of humans died with the belief that the world is flat and the moon, stars, and sun are fixed to its ceiling.

It important we read more and travel wide, these are the basic education any rational being should strive to acquire. Let move away from the conventions that blind our mental faculty. Being blind is not the physical loss of sight but that mental constrain established within us.

Some believe there is at most one God, some were told there is one God. Some believe there is no God, some were told there is no God. Some opined there are many gods, some were told their many gods. We have been in some ways programmed to believe what we hear without objection, ain't we tired of being spoon fed.

Hear say is not enough, know the reason for your existence and the world you live in, strive for knowledge ignore the cost.

If you dig deep, you'll find gold.

People have different beliefs in this world, i will always say your truth is what matters, stick to it.

But it cool to learn about others, I think new ideas should supersede precedence.

Great attitude. I like your lesson too :) And I am wondering if you also have this story in your country? Because we have exactly the same one too :)

Yeah, it a story filled with lessons.

Life is a mystery, some generation of humans died with the belief that the world is flat and the moon, stars, and sun are fixed to its ceiling.

I grew up believing this fact until some certain age. Lovely didactic

Some great life lessons you've presented in your post. Whatever your belief may be, I think everybody would benefit from exploring this world a bit more.

Yeah, people should think outta box.

If knowledge is expensive try ignorance. As long as lives are different and not the same this hear say of thing will never cease
