I've sadly had a few close friends die premature deaths due to their brilliant inventions which threatened big business/big pharma. Of course, the government in question that was prosecuting the case used mainstream media to create lies about the individual, thus ruining their reputation and ultimately their life. This is why blockchain technology such as bitcoin are essential. Satoshi designed bitcoin so governments could no longer fund their wars with the fiat currency they print.
