The helmet
She was holding the helmet in her hands. she knew that if she left it on, he would get to her soon enough and extract all the information he needed. She did not want to let that happen.
Taking off the helmet was a bold decision. It would mean that she would no longer have access to her developed version of her brain and its powers. She would not be able to live the life of a superhuman in 2150 A D. Instead, she would be like any other human being as they existed in the year 2018. It seemed life back then was so primitive. The people dealt in fiat, lived to compete and a quarter of the world lived in luxury while the others dealt with poverty, homelessness and other issues. Leaders ruled and they, in turn, were ruled by a few banks which were now a thing of the past.

Cryptocurrency had changed the game and how the world lived. Progress was quick and so were the risks, however. People now had helmets which monitored everything including health. Helmets were removed only when people slept.
Life on the planet Earth had changed, she thought. People did not need fuelled vehicles. They flew with the power of helmets. Birds had adapted soon, to the flying human. People walked on roads, only to get exercise or to admire nature. Pollution was a thing of the past, too.
Life was divine but...
