Bulgarians say "People who dance in the icy waters and walk on fire, can not be destroyed!"
For centuries every January a holly cross is thrown in an icy river. Young and old man jump to "rescue" it. Tradition says it will bring good health. To celebrate the occasion people jump in the river to sing and dance.
