Three very tired Days were Memorable
Perfectly, I really feel a perfection in trying to respond with a new community in a new area I've been living for months.
True, since three days ago I tried to integrate totally with the culture of the local community, in a celebration to carry out the wedding feast in the traditional Aceh.
At first I felt this procession was too complicated and meticulous because of the many complicated things that had to be done, from the preparation of the place, the provision of food to the invited guests and all that had to be done jointly by the bride's family who also assisted by neighbors and villagers who just happened to have the time.
I happened to be a neighbor to the celebration owner, without being asked to join my local friends to help with this custom procession.
For this entry I would like to appreciate how they cook 100kgs of meat for a side dish and complement the food menu, along with a bit of information and pictures in the process of cooking the meat.
The event starts by cutting chunks of meat into small, standard pieces of consumption
Uniquely, to ward off the saturation of having to cut the meat very much and of course it will take a long time, they make the event like a race, here we will see them showing the sharpness of the knife and the speed of work while chatting merrily, so without the meat was ready cut off for immediate cooking.
The cauld has been heated, the meat has been flavored, so then live cook it until cooked in a super large cauldron, this procession takes about three hours.
After processed meat finished in cooking, then the first one to enjoy it is the people who helped the work, after that the meat curry typical of Aceh will be stored as a welcome to welcome guests this afternoon.
Togetherness does not end here, because as guests start to arrive, dirty dishes are scattered, so those who collect and wash them thoroughly are neighbors and local people too, they do it all sincerely, without any expectation of any kind from the host, all involved looking happy and happy, really amazing.
Thanks for sharing, Culture that must be maintained so as not to be eroded by misguided modernism, because the beauty of life is when we are able to reconcile between local culture with international medernism
