The health costs of the person's pocket are rising

The government decided to reduce the pockets cost of health in the health sector to achieve universal health protection. In reality, the cost of a person's pocket increased earlier. In this way, universal health protection will be difficult to achieve by 2030.

Economists and public health experts at the discussion at Universal Health Coverage on Monday, Health and Economics Institute of Dhaka University said this at a conference on Universal Health Coverage.
In the original presentation, Professor Syed Abdul Hamid, Director of Health Economics Unit, said that the cost of pocket for the health and health of the person increases the calamity for many families. To meet the health expenditure, 13 percent of the households in Bangladesh suffer financial disasters every year. 4 percent of the families fall below the poverty line. In this case, the target of Bangladesh is not achieved.
The Institute of Health Economics, United Kingdom donor organization USAID and Bangladesh Health Reporters Forum jointly organized this meeting.
The papers distributed on the occasion were found in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 2012 to create public health funding strategies to achieve universal health protection. Then 64 percent of the health expenditure was borne by themselves. In the strategy sheet, the person's own expense will be reduced gradually. As well as social health protection measures will be set up. In the last few years, the expenditure of the person is increasing. Currently, 67 percent of medical and health expenses are given from their pockets. Professor Hamid said that the cost of pocket costs in Bangladesh is more than that of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Pakistan.
Director General of Health Economics and Employee Welfare Board Asadul Islam said, reducing the cost of the person's health in the health sector and the country is somewhat lagging behind in social healthcare. But the country is moving towards achieving universal health protection.
