Horror in the mundanity!! This is brilliant. I'm reminded of some of those early sci fi writers or those in the horror genre like Poe who can make the ordinary terrifying. Love this - it also reminds me of Ray Bradbury - ah, what's the name of that story - when the parents die in the veldt? Oh, I remember - 'The Veldt', lol - it's quite an ordinary, disquieting horror.
