Dog fights are so scary. When I was a pet-sitter, the pit bull and giant schnauzer I was caring for got into a fight. They weren't even my dogs, but I was so terrified I couldn't even think clearly. I just kept yelling and trying to kick them apart with my feet, all the while imagining one of them laying dead when it was over. I couldn't stop shaking afterward. Fortunately, only one dog was injured, and I was able to care for her wounds at home. But man, as bad as that was with someone else's dogs, I can't imagine the panic you must have felt when it was your own.
